“What a special and one-of-a-kind slice of paradise the WCFC is! My father and I traveled here to enjoy Father's Day in June of 2024, and the experience from start to finish was top notch and exceeded 5-stars. This is a proper fishing club that makes you feel like a true fisherman on the water, and true family at the Clubhouse! Thank you to the wonderful team for making every aspect of the trip both memorable and unlike any other. A special and well deserved THANK YOU to our stellar guide, Tegan, who shared his passion for fishing & friendship with us... we feel very fortunate to have had such a knowledgeable and supportive guide to make our experience what it was. Catching some awesome Chinook, Halibut, and Lingcod was only an added bonus! Thank you to Kimberly, Elle, Elisabeth, Taylor, and Coral for adding to the home away from home like experience... all led under the outstanding management of Grant... THANK YOU. Until we meet again WCFC, and I hope it will be very soon!”

“I am not an avid fisherman, but this was a trip of a lifetime. From the moment you land in Vancouver to the moment you leave, the WCFC staff is there with you bending over backwards to make sure you are having a great trip. Even when our plane was slightly delayed, they drove us to a local bar to hang out at before our flight to Masset. When we landed on Langara Island, we were greeted by the lodge staff with a welcome cocktail and lunch before heading down to the docks for our first afternoon of fishing. I cannot speak more highly of the entire staff on the island. They are ALL absolutely incredible - from the front of house, back of house, dock crew, guides, etc - everyone made us feel apart of the WCFC family. I also enjoyed meeting other guest and sharing stories each night. The accommodations are very nice. I could spend a lot of time with a drink in hand on that back patio with the view of the water. The food was consistently great. My favorite meals of the trip were the pepperoni pizza, fish and chips, tuna & foie, and the daily soups! You also won’t want to miss out on cocktail hour with the hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktail of the day. Out on the boat, our guide was Dan the Man. He is awesome! Dan did a fantastic job teaching us on the boat, telling us interesting facts about all the fish, and taking us to the best spots around the island. We capped out on our license limit with a half day to spare. To celebrate, we decided to jump in the water near the lodge. It was cold, but such a fun experience. I can’t wait to come back one day to share this experience with more people. Thank you to the ENTIRE staff at WCFC for making this a truly memorable vacation.”

“Best fishing place yet. My first visit was a success. Can’t wait to do it all over again next year! I mean, everything, the way you are treated with the food, I mean, it’s just absolutely brilliant. I’ve never been treated with that much professionalism in my life before until I came to the WCFC.”

“My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at WCFC this year & we couldn’t have had a better time. The staff are all attentive and knowledgeable, the property is lovely and comfortable and the food is phenomenal. Our guide Liam is an exceptional fisherman and about the perfect guide. He took us to all the best spots and in addition to nearly maxing out on Spring, halibut & Lingcod we got to see sea lions, orcas, dolphins, eagles & humpbacks. Haida Gwaii is magical and WCFC shows off this jewel of BC in the most wonderful ways.”

“Just returned from a phenomenal stay at The Clubhouse. Every aspect of this adventure from the initial booking to the return plane ride to Vancouver was absolute perfection. My family and I travel the world extensively and my group of outdoorsmen friends and I visit lodges throughout North America, South America and Africa. To date, The West Coast Fishing Club (WCFC) has been the absolute best, balancing luxury with the wilderness. Our experience at The Clubhouse set a new standard. Haida Gwaii- I have been to the Galapagos and now understand why they call this place “The Galapagos of the North.” Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! In addition to the fishing, we saw whales everywhere, seals, bald eagles, porpoises, etc. Something to see in every direction. Booking/Pre-Arrival/Travel-Excellent coordination/communication with client services ensured we were well prepared. Travel was seamless and well organized with guests being given a WCFC neck wallet for their plane and helicopter boarding passes. This neck wallet also came in handy when fishing to hold your fish tags and your fishing license. WCFC thought of everything. The Club House-Perfect in every way. Luxury rooms with robes and slippers, 5-star dining, incredible service and wonderful gathering spaces to swap fish stories and make new friends. There is Wi-Fi in the common areas but not in your rooms. Perfect for staying in touch without retiring to your room to work. I eat at a lot of Michelin star restaurants and the food was on par, WOW. Fishing-Incredible. Every year, I fish Alaska, South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Mexico and other places. Haida Gwaii fishing was excellent. Langara Island has the luxury of having the Pacific Ocean to the West and protected water to the East so your guide can take you to where the waters are calm, and the fish are biting. Dan was our guide and he excelled at everything. Part fisherman and part naturalist, he knew all aspects of Haida Gwaii’s flora and fauna given that this was his 12th season. He exceeded all expectations. We went to the Pacific side and had our limit of halibut in no time. Hospitality-Absolutely unmatched with incredible attention to detail. Every staff member knew your name and your drink of choice by the second day. The Assistant GM, Grant achieved the perfect balance of being ubiquitous but not intrusive. He was always around with a great smile and always available to answer questions, but he also gave you a wide berth to enjoy your time at the lodge. This was an absolutely perfect stay that exceeded all expectations. Guests only had to do 2 things: reel in fish and decide what you wanted to eat for each meal. Dollar for dollar, this has to be the best value in any of the lodges we have visited over 3 continents. Thanks for a PERFECT stay.”

“Long time bucket list to fish Haida Gwaii. We decided to try West Coast fishing club (The clubhouse). We were lucky enough to get a slot in late August. The experience was first class and seamless from the moment we got to South terminal in Vancouver. All the staff were friendly and attentive to our every need. Big nod to Hollie from Scotland perhaps our favourite server and you truly haven’t had scotch until it was poured by a Scot. Would have been nice to get a big fish but we got plenty of good springs (chinook) some coho and chum. Our guide had us onto halibut until our arms were sore . A few minor gear issues ; one of our reels we weren’t able to adjust the drag on it (luckily didn’t cost us any fish) and one of the seats was loose causing it to be wobbly with any seas and fatigue my back . My understanding they just got their processing licence and some bugs to workout there. I would suggest they pack the fish with some ice packs to prevent it from thawing out . I was only going to Victoria, home by 7 pm and my fish was stating to thaw . Any longer a return trip may have been an issue. All said and done had a great time ,met some great people ,great staff . Can hardly wait to return . Thanks to everyone behind the Scenes at the clubhouse. Eric W”
